Traveling when you have a dog can be a real hassle: Kennels are expensive and don't alleviate the guilt of leaving your furry friend behind. Why not take your dog with you on your next vacation? Choosing a city for both you and your canine companion just got a little easier: A new study from Compare the Market ranks the 25 U.S. cities with the most pampered pooches. Esther Davidowitz North Jersey Record Published 5:45 AM EDT Apr 22, 2019 From an early age, Stephen Chrisomalis, Jr. loved to cook. So much so that the Hackensack resident enrolled at the prestigious Johnson & Wales culinary school, where he learned how to butcher animals, clean and debone fish, julienne and dauphinoise vegetables, cook sous vide and spatchcock poultry. Today many of his fellow graduates are working at fine dining restaurants. Chrisomalis is flipping burgers at a roadside burger stand in Garfield. And he couldn't be happier. "I wouldn't change a thing," Chrisomalis said. "I always wanted to own a business and I didn't want to start too big." Steve's Burgers certainly isn't big: 19 seats, seven of them at a formica counter. And it certainly isn't fancy, with blackboard menu, checkerboard tablecloths, white paper plates and simple paper napkins. Work is plentiful, with the number of job openings recently hitting a record, yet one-third of Americans say their jobs are just a way to get by. All right, Boston. Your Red Sox just beat our Yankees in the ALDS and the Patriots are miles better than both the Giants and Jets. You can have sports. But how dare you come for our pizza crown? TripAdvisor released on Tuesday its list of America's 10 best pizzerias. And something called "Regina Pizzeria" in Boston topped the list. Not a New Jersey pizza spot, not even a New York one. A Boston pizzeria. No. 1 in the country. This feels like a "Black Mirror" episode -- and in this dystopian pizza future, the entire world has lost its taste buds. I've never been to Regina Pizzeria. I'll probably never go to Regina Pizzeria. You know why? You don't go to Hawaii to ski, you don't go to Colorado to surf and you sure as hell don't go to Boston for pizza. Obnoxious accents and mediocre coffee? Sure. Maybe even clam chowder -- we'll admit New England's take on the soup is better than Manhattan's, ya chowdahead.
