close Video FBI Director Wray testifies on Capitol riot FBI Director Chris Wray testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday that the bureau, to date, has not found any evidence showing Antifa members or "fake Trump supporters" participated in the Capitol riot . Clarifying that the FBI does not evaluate perpetrators based on a left or right political spectrum, Wray testified that it’s clear a large and growing number of those arrested so far in connection to Jan. 6 could be categorized as militia violent extremists or racially motivated extremists, naming both the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys groups. In response to a question from Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., Wray clarified that FBI's ongoing investigations have not found Antifa involvement. Treating Antifa, White Supremacy Equally Is Insulting To Injured, Killed Capitol Police Officers, Durbin says
Democratic Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin said Tuesday that treating antifa and white supremacy equally is insulting to the Capitol police officers who were injured or killed during the Jan. 6 riot. “I join my Republican colleagues unequivocally in condemning left-wing violence but let’s stop pretending that the threat of antifa is equivalent to the white supremacist threat. Vandalizing a federal courthouse in Portland is a crime,” Durbin said during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday. Durbin said although those who vandalized the courthouse “should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” it’s not equal to the Jan. 6 riot or “mass shootings targeting minority communities.” “This false equivalency is an insult to the brave police officers who were injured or lost their lives on January 6th, as well as dozens of others who have been murdered in white supremacist attacks,” Durbin said. COVAX Program to Roll Out Tens of Millions of Vaccine Doses Globally
JOHANNESBURG - The global COVAX vaccine distribution plan aims to deliver tens of millions of vaccine doses to low-income countries -- many of them in Africa – in the coming months, top global health officials say, describing this as a turning point in the quest to quash the coronavirus pandemic. The world’s largest, fastest, and most ambitious vaccine drive delivered 11 million vaccine doses Tuesday to Angola, Cambodia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Nigeria. Between now and the end of May, said WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the COVAX facility will deliver 270 million doses to 142 participating countries and economies. The global initiative was set up last April to ensure that poorer nations aren’t left out of the worldwide scramble for vaccine access. The program, which is projected to cost about $11 billion, is funded by donor nations, foundations and corporations. It is part of the Access to COVID-19 Tools Accelerator, a global collaboration that works on the … [Read more...] about COVAX Program to Roll Out Tens of Millions of Vaccine Doses Globally
