Attorney Kathy McArthur Kathy McArthur was the lead attorney at trial. She said that this verdict spoke to the power of having an experienced trial attorney represent your case. You would be shocked at the amount of lawyers who don’t go to trial. The insurance companies want you to accept a small settlement, and they will go to great lengths to pay out as little as possible.”— Attorney Kathy McArthurMACON, GEORGIA, USA, February 13, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A Georgia man received a jury verdict over 16 times what the insurance company initially offered. David Andreatta Rochester Democrat and Chronicle Published 12:33 PM EST Feb 11, 2019 A hearing scheduled for this week in Pittsford Town Court in the matter of a driver's court-ordered apology letter to a boy he struck has been postponed indefinitely. Pittsford Town Judge John Bernacki last month scheduled the hearing for Thursday following intense media coverage of the apology letter and public speculation on whether its contents met the demand of the court. A court clerk said Monday the hearing was since taken off the calendar and that no alternative date has been set. Eleven-year-old Julian Moore was stunned in December when he received his apology from the driver, Doug Lamb, 65, that read: "Dear Julian, I'm very sorry that you rode into the side of the car I was driving on September 7th. More importantly, I am glad you didn't need to be treated by the attending ambulance on the day of the incident. Wishing you a safe and happy holiday season." Bernacki … [Read more...] about Court puts off hearing on driver’s apology for car-bike accident
A second pathologist testified Thursday in the murder trial of an Illinois attorney accused of killing his newlywed bride 45 years ago in a staged traffic accident, saying she agreed with the original pathologist’s decision to reclassify the woman’s death as a homicide. Dr. Mary Case testified Thursday as the final prosecution witness in the case against Donnie Rudd, a 76-year-old attorney and former suburban school board member accused of killing his wife, 19-year-old Noreen Rudd — to whom he was married for just 27 days — and making it appear to be the result of a tragic car accident in a Barrington Hills field in 1973, the Chicago Tribune reported. Case, after reviewing an autopsy completed by Dr. Hilary McElligott, said she agreed with its conclusions that no evidence was found that Noreen Rudd had a broken spine, but that she instead died from a fractured skull consistent with being struck in the head by a blunt object. The woman’s head wounds were … [Read more...] about Lawyer’s wife did not die from car accident 45 years ago: pathologist
Q. My son was injured in a car accident and he found an attorney to help him. The attorney isn't charging anything upfront but wants to take 40 percent of whatever he gets. How can we decide if that's a fair amount? What do these lawyers usually charge? A. We're sorry to hear your son was injured and we hope he's on the mend. It seems either you're mistaken, or your son is being taken for a ride. Your son has entered into a "contingency agreement," which is when an attorney charges nothing to take the case, but upon successful resolution collects a percentage of the money recovered, said Joseph Peters, the co-chair of the personal injury and workers' compensation practice at Mandelbaum Salsburg in Roseland. He said contingency agreements are common in New Jersey, and they're covered by rules. New Jersey Court Rule 1:21-7 states in that "an attorney shall not contract for, charge, or collect a contingent fee in excess of the following limits: "This means that … [Read more...] about Is this attorney overcharging my son after car accident?
