These Cincinnati businesses embraced the spirit of the April 1 holiday and offered an array of convincing pranks on Facebook and Twitter. Here are the best ones we've seen so far: MadTree: Pouched Beer MadTree Brewing Co., a contender in the "Cincinnati's Favorite Beer" competition last month, announced its latest and greatest innovation on Twitter this morning: pouched beer. The brewery promises three "incredibly thick" flavors for its launch of the "Marsupial Milkshake" line: Crazy Koala Kolsch, Wild Wombat Wheat, and Hoppin' Kangaroo IPA. Taft's: Boozgurt Taft's Brewing Co., which won the "Cincinnati's Favorite Beer" competition last month with "Gavel Banger," has its sights on the dairy industry with its latest invention: boozgurt. It's back. Time marches on and April 1 has once again returned. So has the annual flood of (mostly questionable) brand pranks, hoaxes, and jokes that compete for attention and corporate good will. One company, however, has announced that enough is enough and that it's not going to jump into the feeding frenzy: Microsoft marketing chief Chris Capossela sent out a note to employees last week announcing that the company had decided against doing any public-facing stunts, because "data tells us these stunts have limited positive impact and can actually result in unwanted news cycles." No fooling…April 1 is April Fools’ Day.The exact origin of April Fools Day is unclear, though some speculated it dates back to 1582, when France made the move from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar.
