The mother is Aiken's best friend and record producer, 50-year-old Jaymes Foster, - and the conception was reportedly done by artificial insemination. "Mama Jaymes is doing quite well also," Aiken said. "The Aiken family, the Foster family, and the Parker family are all thrilled." Foster and Aiken met during his 2003 run on the second season of "Idol." The North Carolina resident, who finished as runner-up, has since sold more than 6 million albums - including his double-platinum debut. The mother is the sister of legendary music producer David Foster. Surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost arm in shark attack, gives birth to baby boy

One-armed surfing star Bethany Hamilton is a new mom. Hamilton, 25, and her husband Adam Dirks had a baby boy on June 1, she announced on Instagram Monday. "Blessed to welcome our son, Tobias, into the world," the wave-shredder wrote. The post included a pic of Hamilton and her sunkissed stud cuddling the tyke amid a lush Hawaiian backdrop. "He is named after his great grandpa Tobias meaning 'The goodness of God.' Adam and I so in love with our lil guy and are stoked to share life with him!" she gushed. The cute couple, who were wed in 2013, announced they were expecting in a video they posted online in February. A month later, the mom to be, who lost her left arm at 13 in a shark attack, kicked up a bit of controversy after she was photographed surfing in Kauai with a protruding baby bump. She defended her decision to stay on the board, saying she wanted to stay active to prepare for childbirth. In her announcement video, Hamilton, whose story was adapted for the 2011 movie "Soul Surfer," said she wasn't worried about managing the rigors of baby-rearing with only one arm. "I think there's going to be things that will be very challenging with one arm, but I'll just have to find my own way to take care of the baby. And of course I'll have Adam to help," she said. "But if he's out and about and busy, I'll just have to adjust to little things and figure it out and be creative." Continue Reading

Texas mom gives birth to baby boy while jailed to await trial for death of her 2-year-old son

A Texas mom jailed in the death of her toddler gave birth to another child — half a year after cops dug up her son’s body. The baby boy was taken away from Meagan Work and quickly put into foster care after the 20-year-old gave birth in February, according to KVUE-TV. She and her boyfriend, Michael Turner, both face charges in the death of her 2-year-old son, Colton, whose body was found buried southeast of Austin last September. She is jailed at Travis County Jail while awaiting the trial. Colton died hours after Work allegedly bashed his head against a truck in July, witnesses told police. Turner is believed to be the boy's father. The Travis County Sheriff’s Office would not comment on where Work gave birth, but deputies will typically drive female inmates to the hospital when in labor, Sheriff’s spokesman Roger Wade told the TV station. Police say Work repeatedly lied about her son’s disappearance in September, when her pregnancy was announced, and said he had been kidnapped. She was two months pregnant when Colton apparently died in a motel room, she testified. Turner then revealed the location of Colton’s body in a shallow grave, the Austin-Statesman reported. Both Work and Turner are charged with injury to a child by omission. It’s not clear if the child will remain in foster care or being handed over to relatives. Join the Conversation: Continue Reading
