"CBS Evening News" anchor Jeff Glor will be traveling to key battleground states ahead of the upcoming midterm elections. Beginning next week, Glor will be interviewing candidates and voters about the issues most important to them. Broadcasts will also feature coverage from CBS News correspondents across the country, in addition to long-form reporting through the series "Eye on America." "Midterms are such a fascinating way for Americans to engage. Whether it's in the middle of the biggest city or the smallest town, we want to have open, honest, fair conversations with viewers, voters, and candidates, now and for years to come," Glor said. "We can't wait to hit the road." CBS Evening News anchor and Tonawanda native Jeff Glor has taken over the role of the late Tim Russert as the No. 1 network news booster of the Buffalo Bills. During an NFL Network appearance over the weekend, Glor might have been the only one in the nation to predict the Buffalo Bills’ 27-6 upset over the Minnesota Vikings. The footage came at the end of the 60-second highlight segment that included news about the controversies surrounding Supreme Court … [Read more...] about CBS Evening News, with Glor’s assist, and SportsCenter highlight Allen’s hurdle

Over the 26 full weeks that Glor’s been on the air in the role, the nightly news program has slipped 5 percent in total viewers year-to-year and an even steeper 9 percent in the critical 25-54 year-old news demographic that advertisers covet. Since Glor took over “Evening News” last December from Scott Pelley, who went to “60 Minutes” full time, CBS has lost in total viewers for 24 out of those 26 weeks. The New York Post reports that the “CBS Evening News” has lost nearly 1.5 million viewers since Glor took over in December 2017, and CBS News president David Rhodes is none too pleased. Before Glor got the job, “CBS Evening News” had slipped to third place, behind ABC’s “World News Tonight,” anchored by David Muir, and NBC’s “Nightly News,” anchored by … [Read more...] about Is CBS about to remove Jeff Glor as ‘Evening News’ anchor?
