U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken made an unannounced visit Thursday to Kabul where he told Afghan leaders that while the United States will soon begin withdrawing its remaining troops from the country, it remains committed to Afghanistan. “The partnership is changing, but the partnership is enduring,” Blinken said as he met with President Ashraf Ghani and other officials. The visit came a day after U.S. President Joe Biden announced all U.S. troops will be out of Afghanistan by September 11 of this year. “We respect the decision and are adjusting our priorities,” Ghani said Thursday. A senior State Department official told reporters that while the United States will no longer have military assets in Afghanistan, it will still be capable of confronting any threat that emerges. Blinken also spoke Thursday to a group of mostly U.S. soldiers at the American embassy, offering praise for the military’s efforts since the first forces were deployed to the country in 2001. … [Read more...] about Blinken Makes Surprise Visit to Afghanistan to Sell Biden Troop Withdrawal

Sanctuary State California: Illegal Alien Repeatedly Raped Child After Failing to Be Deported
An illegal alien has been convicted and sentenced for repeatedly raping a child after federal immigration officials failed to deport him in the sanctuary state of California, Breitbart News has learned. Fredys Aguilar-Menjivar, a 31-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador, was convicted and sentenced to 45 years in prison in Monterey County, California, this month on three counts of forcible rape of a child under 14-years-old and one count of child molestation, the District Attorney’s Office announced . According to prosecutors, Aguilar-Menjivar raped a girl in his family multiple times from August 2018 to March 2020. The girl was younger than 14-years-old when the abuse started. Other family members found out about the child sexual abuse when a family member walked in on Aguilar-Menjivar raping the girl at a family party. The girl tried to stop Aguilar-Menjivar during the abuse but prosecutors said he threatened her and her parents if she screamed for help. Biden to pull US troops from Afghanistan, end “forever war”
WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden said Wednesday he will withdraw remaining U.S. troops from the “forever war” in Afghanistan, declaring that the Sept. 11 terror attacks of 20 years ago cannot justify American forces still dying in the nation’s longest war. His plan is to pull out all American forces — numbering 2,500 now — by this Sept. 11, the anniversary of the attacks, which were coordinated from Afghanistan. Soon after Biden made his announcement, NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels said the alliance had agreed to withdraw its roughly 7,000 forces from Afghanistan, matching Biden’s decision to begin a final pullout by May 1. The U.S. cannot continue to pour resources into an intractable war and expect different results, Biden said. The drawdown would begin rather than conclude by May 1, which has been the deadline for full withdrawal under a peace agreement the Trump administration reached with the Taliban last year. “It is time to end America’s longest war,” Biden … [Read more...] about Biden to pull US troops from Afghanistan, end “forever war”
Former Japanese internment camp in Colorado could become national historic site
Camp Amache , where thousands of Japanese Americans and Japanese immigrants were held against their will during World War II , would become a national historic site under bipartisan legislation introduced Wednesday by two Coloradans. Republican U.S. Rep. Ken Buck and Democratic U.S. Rep. Joe Neguse co-authored the bill . Buck represents the rural southeast Colorado area where the Amache incarceration site is, and Neguse chairs the U.S. House subcommittee that oversees national parks and public lands. The internment camp west of Granada, at that time known as the Granada War Relocation Center, was constructed in 1942 . It housed more than 7,000 people of Japanese descent — most of whom were American citizens — in the 1940s due to a presidential executive order and was one of 10 internment camps. The site has been a national historic landmark since 2006. “The Amache Preservation Society has always wanted to do what was best for the Japanese American families that had to … [Read more...] about Former Japanese internment camp in Colorado could become national historic site
