Finding out would require a first-hand witness: Ray Tabano, a founding Aerosmith member and guitarist. In the episode, which aired July 30, Wolfe reached out to a friend, Dan Auerbach, of The Black Keys, who in … [Read more...] about The original Aerosmith tour van was found in Western Mass.
By Todd Houston Heartbreaks & Hangovers. Rockford native Trace Foster and company offer up a new album and are calling the genre Southern rock/country. While I suppose that’s true, you’ll find from the first two chords of “Best I Ever Had” to Foster’s outro guitar solo on “Oklahoma’s Got Me Loving You” that this ain’t your typical “Cookie Cutter” way of doing it. I tried my damnedest to pick apart every song and came up flat. Yes, there are certain cliches that pop up in singer/guitarist Heath Molton’s lyrics and the occasional “punch line” chorus associated with country/rock music but it’s easily forgivable. Why? Because the songs are so damn good! One listen will make you want to share a can of Busch Light with your best girl in the bed of a pickup truck. Heartbreaks & Hangovers honking out of the Hi-Fi of course. The rest of the band consists of Lucas Petersen, bass/background … [Read more...] about Rockford Rocked catches up with Letters from Jett guitarist Trace Foster
NEW YORK -- A representative says Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry is resting and "doing well" after he left a New York City stage and was taken to a hospital. Sujata Murthy also said Monday that Perry appreciates the public's good wishes. Perry became ill around 9:30 p.m. Sunday while performing with Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper in his side band, the Hollywood Vampires, at the Ford Amphitheater in Brooklyn's Coney Island. An administrator at Coney Island Hospital confirmed the 65-year-old Perry was undergoing tests. Cooper tweeted, saying "our brother" Perry was stable and with family. A video posted by a fan on social media shows Perry sitting onstage and then walking off in the middle of a song. The band continued playing after Perry left. … [Read more...] about CBS News Logo Aerosmith’s Perry doing well after getting sick at NY show
Iconic guitarist and Aerosmith legend Joe Perry will be in town this week and, trust us, you won’t want to miss a thing. The rock star will be sitting down for an in-store record signing at Newbury Comics (the one that’s actually on Newbury Street) starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The occasion: He just dropped his latest solo album, “Sweetzerland Manifesto”, which was welcomed with a rager of a release party at The Roxy in Los Angeles. “Sweetzerland Manifesto” was released on Perry’s own Roman Records imprint this Friday. The musician has had his hand in writing at least part of all 10 tracks featured on the new record. But he’s tapped into his whole network of musician friends for help bringing these songs to fruition. While listening to the new album — now available on iTunes and Amazon — your well-trained ears may pick up on the guest appearances from some of Perry’s pals. Vocal cameos include Terry Reid (lending his … [Read more...] about Aerosmith guitarist to hit Boston to sign album
