Bill makes it a crime to advertise marijuana sales without a license
The state Senate gave initial approval Monday to a measure designed to crack down on advertisements online for illicit marijuana sales. The bill — Senate Bill 15 — would create a new criminal offense for a person to advertise the sale of marijuana without a retail license. As a level 2 drug misdemeanor, a person convicted would face up to one year in jail and a fine as high as $750. Sen. Irene Aguilar, a Denver Democrat and the bill sponsor, told lawmakers that more than 690 ads for marijuana in Denver were found on Craigslist, a popular online classified advertising website. “With passage of this bill, it will give law enforcement the authority to go in and check on those folks,” she said. 600 potential jurors to be called for STEM School shooting suspect’s trial

Jury selection is expected to last a week. Proceedings will move back to the Douglas County courthouse once the jury is selected, Slade said. A motions hearing will be held at 1:30 p.m. May 21. The trial’s proceedings can be watched online because of limited capacity inside courtrooms. Pittsburgh Weather: Foggy Start, Warmer Afternoon Temperatures
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Yesterday we saw just over a tenth of an inch of rain falling. That rain, along with quickly clearing skies in the overnight hours and light winds has allowed fog to form in spots this morning. READ MORE: Majority Of Penguins Players, Coaches Receive COVID-19 Vaccines At PPG Paints Arena Clinic The thickest of fog seems to be centered in Butler county as of the time of me writing this blog. (Photo Credit: KDKA Weather Center) Fog should burn off by the 9:00 a.m. hour, leaving partly sunny skies for the rest of the day. There is a low rain chance this morning as a weak boundary extending off of an upper low drifts to the east. (Photo Credit: KDKA Weather Center) I consider today a transition day as yesterday’s upper low was absorbed back into the jet stream and another dominant upper low moves our way, located just north of Minnesota. There is a rain band extending out from the upper low into western Pennsylvania. This is likely … [Read more...] about Pittsburgh Weather: Foggy Start, Warmer Afternoon Temperatures
