A Michigan woman died saving her twin 5-year-old sons by using her body to protect them as a vehicle plowed into their car Monday night, her family said. Hillarie Galazka, 29, was driving back to her Lincoln Park home when her Saturn Ion was rear-ended on an entrance ramp of I-96, FOX2 Detroit reported . Jay’dha Rackard led her first rally when she was just 10 years old, protesting a persisting problem on her school’s playground: used needles. NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The FDNY responded to multiple fires in the cold overnight. Firefighters battled a huge blaze around 11 p.m. to a restaurant on 74th Street in Jackson Heights . Five firefighters suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police have released an image of the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that left a 60-year-old man dead in North Philadelphia. Police say Roberto Oquendo Velez was hit with such force that he was thrown from his shoes and dragged about 300 feet on the 3300 block of North 2nd Street. (credit: Philadelphia Police) Police believe the vehicle is either a 2001 to 2004 GMC Yukon or Denali, blue in color. Police say the vehicle has a broken right headlight.
