You can do a lot with an extra $2,000 in your pocket, and that’s about how much Denver drivers are squandering per year on excess wear, tear and wasted traffic hours in their vehicles. According to a recent study by Washington, D.C.-based national nonprofit transportation research group The Road Information Program , crumbling infrastructure is hurting motorists’ wallets. The 50-year-old group published its “ Keeping Colorado Mobile Report ” on Tuesday. It describes that the average Denverite is losing $1,242 as a result of spending 62 hours stuck in traffic, which wastes an additional 26 gallons of fuel annually. Analysts found 22% of Colorado’s roads are in poor condition, and 25% are rated as mediocre. In Denver, 37% of major local and state roads are in poor condition and another 26% are in mediocre shape. That’s another $732 on average to the regular driver repairs and lost time. “The new TRIP report reinforces one simple fact: too many Coloradans are wasting too much … [Read more...] about Denver drivers are wasting $2,000 a year thanks to poor road conditions, traffic study finds

OPINION: Women’s college sports are important, and these ladies deserve more credit for what they do
It has been a great year for Arizona sports teams. The women's basketball team is one of the best in the country, a pair of siblings are tearing it up in women's golf, every gymnastics meet comes down to hundredths of points and soccer is currently undefeated. Currently, the women's diving team has won a few matches, women's tennis is having a great year, cross country is putting up good numbers, volleyball had a dominant weekend against Oregon State and the beach volleyball season has started. You are probably thinking, “wow, I had no idea the men were playing so well this year.” Except that it’s not the men doing this well, it’s the women. People don’t realize this because men’s sports are usually noticed more than women’s sports. Even with the stellar year that all of the women’s teams are having, they don’t get a lot of coverage. This is a major disservice to the athletes, their coaches and all the fans who could be watching once-in-a-lifetime talent. I want to break it down … [Read more...] about OPINION: Women’s college sports are important, and these ladies deserve more credit for what they do

Malcolm Nance: It Sounded Like Josh Hawley ‘Worried’ FBI Has Something on Him
MSNBC national security analyst Malcolm Nance claimed Tuesday on “The Beat” that Sen. Josh Hawley’s (R-MO) questions to FBI Director Christopher Wray during his testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee sounded as if he were “worried.” Melber said, “You have Republican senator Josh Hawley. He was the first Senator to join the Trump plot to get the Senate in on overthrowing the election. Then what you see here will live in infamy as he held up his fist this way in solidarity with the MAGA crowd that the FBI director identifies now as full of terrorists and white supremacists. He led that charge, as I mentioned, and today at the hearing with all of this context, Hawley tried to go at the FBI director with his argument, his attempt to present himself as someone questioning how this whole thing went down, how did this riot occur.” Political commentator Jason Johnson said, “When I saw Josh Hawley asking that question, it was the biggest asking for a friend senator thing I’ve ever … [Read more...] about Malcolm Nance: It Sounded Like Josh Hawley ‘Worried’ FBI Has Something on Him
