By midnight, temperatures should have slid all the way down to the mid-to-low 20’s with Tuesday morning lows in the teens. Covid Scold: Govt Scientist Tells Britons Not to Enjoy Good Weather Too Much
A member of the British government’s scientific advisory panel has implied that the prime minister’s timetable for lifting lockdown could be set back if Britons take advantage of any rare warm Spring weather and undertake allegedly risky business such as going to the beach or meeting up with friends. Professor Calum Semple, who sits on the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE), said people gathering represented a “big worry” for his colleagues and the government, claiming it could undo the progress made by Britons spending a year under lockdown. “Really, we do urge people to take care. We’re just not quite there on the road map — we can’t take a short cut with people’s health,” Professor Semple told Sky News on Sunday. Hi Everyone! It is March the first and looking at the first seven days of this most finicky weather month, we see no arctic blast, or wintry precipitation coming our way. If you look at the seven following days, March 8th through 14th, there is not big hit of winter either. Look it is sometimes hard enough to have a rock solid forecast for any tomorrow. But if you want to, with a wary eye, look at the 14 day outlook there is good news. Cold Weather Alert Issued For Antelope Valley, Later In Week For Mountains
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — A cold weather alert was issued Monday through Thursday for the Antelope Valley, and for Wednesday and Thursday in the Los Angeles County mountains, where wind-chill temperatures are expected to fall below 32 degrees at night. “Children, the elderly, and people with disabilities or special medical needs are especially vulnerable during cold weather,” Los Angeles County Health Officer Dr. Muntu Davis said. “Extra precaution should be taken to ensure they don’t get too cold when they are outside.” READ MORE: Newsom, Lawmakers Reach Deal To Reopen Schools; LAUSD Hopes To Bring Back Students By Mid-April The public was urged to take precautions to protect against the cold, including dressing in layers of warm clothing if spending time outdoors, and protecting the head, hands and feet from the cold by wearing a hat, scarf, gloves and socks. Philadelphia Weather: Delaware Valley In Store For Bitterly Cold, Windy Monday
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Weather conditions will take a turn later in the day Monday, on the start of meteorological spring. The day started wet and mild but will end dry, bitterly cold and windy. Widespread rain has come to an end across the region and light drizzle and mist will continue through the early afternoon. A wind advisory will go into effect at 4 p.m. Monday for all of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New Castle County, Delaware. Winds are expected to gust close to 50 mph, at times 60 mph along the Jersey Shore, and range between 30-40 mph closer to the city. As arctic air spills into the region, temperature readings in Philadelphia will be in the 30s as early as 6 p.m. Monday.
