While we’ll see more cloud cover at times, it stays dry. Skies are partly cloudy overnight and it’s chilly again… mid 40s in NYC and 30s for the northwest suburbs. Denver Weather: It’s Now The Snowiest Season In 8 Years, And More Snow Is Coming
DENVER (CBS4) – The official snow total in Denver from the most recent storm to hit Colorado was 5.7 inches. The season total is now 73.3 inches which is almost two feet above normal and we’re not done! The heavy, wet snow that fell from Thursday afternoon through Friday morning was also enough to call this season the snowiest since 2012-2013. Many tree branches snapped under the weight of the snow Thursday night and made some roads impassible including along 13th Avenue in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. DENVER(CBS)- The Denver metro area is now included in the WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for Thursday afternoon thru Friday morning. Snow amounts may reach 3 to 6 inches mainly on grassy surfaces. Credit: CBS4 On the weather map we have a slow, lumbering low pressure system finally on the move toward Colorado. In the last 24 hours the system has transitioned from Nevada into Utah and has covered most of Colorado with cloud cover and light mountain snow early on Thursday. DENVER (CBS4) – A soggy mid-April snowstorm left a blanket of heavy, wet snow across parts of Colorado late Thursday and early Friday. Hi Everyone! It is Friday eve and we have some good news when looking at the extended outlook. Translation in Marty speak, the weekend may be looking better! Earlier in the week we were talking 62° then we dropped tomorrow’s daytime high down to 58°. Now we are raising it, up to 60°. This tells me we may have less clouds and showers around in the afternoon that we were discussing even as recently as yesterday. A slight move toward the better.
