After having an issue with my garage door opener due to interference from LED lighting in the garage, this proved to largely solve the issue. Placing these around the electrical wires between each light’s transformer and the actual LED emitter itself stopped about 90% of my issues.

I added these to the LED downlight converter kits in our kitchen, and it really helped improve the sound of our kitchen stereo system. The LED lights often have very noisy switching power supplies. Adding these ferrite cores to the AC wires inside the fixture reduced the noise output by 2/3, at a rough guess.

They really work well cleaning up the signal on your stereo system. Apply to all electrical cords and HDMI cords. Also apply to the negative cable on each speaker you’ll be amazed and happy! I have been using them for years on all my clients installs.

Excellent design and fit on the coaxial and audio cables in my Ham Shack. All the RF Feedback is eliminated!

These things are GREAT! I had a "birdy" every 25 KHz or so throughout the 20m, 17m, 15m and 12m amateur bands coming from wired Ethernet equipment in my home. I put one of these on each end of each Ethernet cable, wrapping the cable through the middle twice. Doing this, they barely close, but you get two turns, more inductance, and more "choking power" to eliminate interference. Long story short, the interference is gone, and as a bonus, my network equipment is also more immune to interference going the other way, too. I’m ordering another 10 pack just to have some on hand.

All the ferrite ring cores came in in excellent shape! Exactly as described. I will have to use zip ties as the plastic clips on the cases don’t seem to grab on as they should. Not an issue, as long as it stops RFI/EMI, that’s all I care about! Tried of seeing lines dancing on my monitor from the Smart Meters on our houses here! ***UPDATE*** User Error. I discovered I wasn’t closing these correctly. They all snapped shut at they are supposed to. Works perfectly. They DO fit computer power cables, with a little room for sliding. I used a velcro tie to hold them in place on a few of my power cords. They fit perfectly on my USB KVM Switch cables. They have no room to move there. They actually eradicate all of the EMI/RF I was seeing on my computer monitor. The Smart Meter next door has no way to beat this! I WIN! Will but from this selling again! Perfect!!

I use these all over the house since I have some very sensitive audio equipment for my home theater as well as amateur radio equipment. These help keep out the stray RF from other electrical sources. Cheaper to buy on here than at Radio Shack.

Put one of these onto my Samsung TV power cord, quickly resolving some computer EMI interference! Fits RG6/RG6Q snug.

Prior to using them on the TV cord, I placed several on my computer power cord as well as some other power cords including where ever I could on the inside of the computer case.

I was previously getting interference on a low VHF frequency on the TV over the air digital broadcast, where the signal would bounce from eight to nine bars down to three to four bars just after the computer was turned-on. (ie. The signal would become interrupted by interference immediately after the computer was turned-on.)

Now the TV channel signal is steady, immediately following placing the ferrite cores onto the TV power cord.

These are great to eliminate RF feedback when using a ham radio transmitter.

These reduced my RFI on mobile ham radio and solved my problem. They are a little hard to open but using a small screwdriver and knife I got them opened easily.

We use a small FM transmitter at my isolated work site. I used a few of these Ferrites to successfully eliminate RF noise and AC hum. I wrap through as many times as possible for best results. These were needed on the power supply for the transmitter and nearby powered speakers.

These ferrite clip on’s worked out great for me. they rid my two VFH radio’s of the signal I was getting from my transducer. These Ferrite clip-on’s came as described and on time. Great seller.

Works fine. Snaps on and off easily. The way they are shipped is not good. I my case only one arrived broken, which is pretty good under the circumstances. They can fit a 4mm cable wrapped so it passes through twice.

I only give it this rating because it didn’t do what I expected it to do. Maybe they are not capable of it. I used them on my computer monitor cable in the hopes it would shield it from cutting out when the TIG Welders in my shop are used. Didn’t change anything.

They did not work for us, we have sound interference on our speakers, and this made no change. We also received only 9 proper pieces and 1 broken half.

exactly what I expected. Arrived on-time, intact, and seems to be well made.

A few of these on some of the cables helped my home karaoke setup to sound awesome again!
Had to use a few tie-wraps to ensure they stayed closed and tight around the wire.
But they worked perfectly. No damage in shipping, all looked great.
Good investment to make all my cabling noise (static) disappear! Thx.

These fit AC Cords quite well, and they do have an effect. I suggest buying a package of each size so you can match them to the cable and get a tight fit. You can put more than one on a cable if required. They will keep transmitter RF out of your computer and RF it generates out of your receiver – IF THE PATH WAS THROUGH THE CABLES.

Some video cables do not have these, and adding them can dramatically reduce the RF generated by the video when the screen is showing a mostly white large object. I’ve dropped the noise in my shack dramatically at 450 MHz with these.

The only thing that makes these ferrite core screens better is calculus based physics. For use with Humx and Isoclean.

  43. Guest says

    January 23, 2014 at 12:00 am

When the package arrived I opened it and found the inner plastic bag was black with dust. On pouring it out what I found was lots of bits of Magnet dust and chunks of the original Ferrite core. Only two out of the 10 was intact. I had to swap magnets from good ones to make 4 complete units. I took pictures but Amazon no longer lets people upload product pictures.

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE! They don’t even bother to snap shut the plastic cases before shipping, so the ferrite cores drop out and then break up against each other. They are shipped in a flimsy envelope so there is no way they will survive.
I bought a ten pack of the 5mm and the 9mm and they both arrived in the same condition.

The ten of these devices were all shoved into a plastic bag just large enough to contain them. That being said, half of the ferrite core were damaged. The core had cracked or shattered into many fine pieces. With a little fore-thought these could have been packed in a better container. I think it’s possible to assume that a lot more of these were delivered in the same condition to many other customers.

They are easy to clip on and remove if needed. They did a great job of attenuating the RF hash noise coming from the 30 Amp switching power supply I have hooked to the Kenwood TS-430S that I’m currently working on. In short, they do the job and they do it well.

If you buy a Power Eliminator for your DSLR Camera, the "cost effective" ones do not have this noise reduction ring. It really works, and this is a Great Price! I use them on all my battery eliminators and all the "BRAND NAME" units have them. There is a good reason they do, because they really work!

We were experiencing crackling on one of our churches wired microphones. It had a long run from the front of the sanctuary to the mixer in the back balcony. I had to use 4 ferrite rings to knock out the static completely but it worked. I believe I used the 7mm and 9mm sizes on the XLR cable and a 5mm on the microphones cable thinner wire.

You clamp these rings (magnets) on wires going to and from your electronic equipment to keep Radio Frequency (RF)signals from \\”riding\\” these wires into your equipment causing distortion that often comes through the speakers. If you have a lot of wires, you may have to put these rings on all of them. You will also have to make sure of the size of the wires. If you don’t buy the right size ring, it will not fit on bigger wires. I have a ham radio operator across the street, and I have older analog stereo equipment. I believe these magnetic rings help weed out/diminish his transmissions that end up coming out the speakers. They are not perfect, however, and perhaps only the ham operator can fully resolve the situation using special equipment to keep this from happening. The loudness of these ham voice transmissions are loud enough to damage my speakers. Notice all new TV’s these days have them built right into the cord and computers too.
