Came in a bit rougher condition than I expected, but still totally readable and worth it! I love this story, and I read it as a kid, so it’s nice to read again and find that I still like it a lot.
My daughter was into reading this series. So I got them for her and she has liked them so far.
I like that these are comic books for girls. Blah, blah, blah, the end. Drat, I need more words. Blah
This book series is one of my favorite series. I think any girl can relate to these books, and its a series, so you don’t have to feel sad when you finish this book! 😉
The characters are very realistic: Theres Taranee, the smart one. Cornelia- the fashionable one who is VERY persistant and stubborn. Irma- the funny and laid back one. Hay Lin- the free spirited and kind one. And last but not least, Will, the shy and insecure one.
WITCH may be about powers, but it also includes many topics that girls can relate to (friendship, family, boys, grades, pimples, first days of school, fitting in, ect.)
I showed this book to my friends and all my friends were addicted to it- the girl power, the humor, the action, and how easily you can relate to it. The characters are so easy to imagine that we have assigned rolls to each one of us! For example, I’m Hay Lin! 🙂 Now their names have almost become real to us!
The artwork in this Graphic Novel is worderful. It shows everything so detailed and its in color, too, not like an average graphic novel. There are also books that go along with it, and so if you don’t enjoy comics you should look for those instead.
The way this book is writtin is fun as well. The sense of mystery is always there, and you never know what might pop up later. Maybe something is there in the 5th book and then in the 40th book it pops up again with another mystery! (Just to let you know, so far, as of April 24th, 2012, there are 133 graphic novels. One releases each month. After issue 30, though, it is only in Italian, but you can read some on witch-o-holic.tk)
Anyway, I think WITCH is a great series, and girls will love it! Boys may also enjoy it because of the action and the male rebels, but this is a great series for anybody 9 and up!
W.I.T.C.H. Graphic Novel: The Power of Friendship – Book #1 was one of my favorite book when I was an adolescent. I’m considering buying the others in the series…

But the art quality and style was so great, that I HAD to purchase the book itself!
It’s fresh, clean-cut, and an unusual style. I love the crayonistic smudge of lines in the characters; it’s their flaws which make them perfect.
Excellent gift to yourself or to others!
I will be purchasing the rest of the series… The price is good, the product great, and very interesting.. I have since read the anime series (oh, so many episodes!) and will be purchasing the special edition versions in their yearly magazine releases..
I would buy it again!
My son is 4 1/2 and has just discovered graphic novels, starting with W.I.T.C.H., book 2. We’re on to book 1 and ready to start looking for #3 and beyond. He loves these books, surprisingly to me, and I love them as well. He’s been watching Studio Gibli movies since he was little, so it makes sense to me that he would like the manga style. Now, we just have to get our library to stock all of the series!
This book covers the first two books. I like it because this way you can see what some of the characters look like that you may not have seen in the begining comics in the books, or in the T.V. show.
i loved it. it really made me laugh, i hope others will too…BUT…
the drawing style is different from the TV show. the graphic novel version of the story is also VERY DIFFERENT from the tv series, but still a great read. the differences kept me interested…i just had to see what else would happen to these girls. it might seem a bit too silly at times for older readers, but it has a few moments that will really make u laugh.
If You Are Looking For A Graphic Novel Version Of The Animated TV Show…These Books Are Not For You!!!
This book is worth the price and more. The artwork is beautiful and the storyline is innovative and interesting. It’ll definitely keep you reading.
This first volume of tk’s graphic novel explains how Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin became the group W.I.T.C.H. It deals with them discovering their powers and learning of their destiny as guardians of the veil and to save the land of Candracar. And they have to do all this while dealing with their families, high school, and boys!
Also recommended: the rest of the graphic novels in the series and anything by tk!
I know that the reviews are about the books usually, but I can’t sit back and let the socalled \\”review\\” by Kiki Lars to go alone, as the claims by the reviewer is unbacked, untruthful and totally unbalanced.
She more or less accuses us Fans of this great comic series, of stealing, moreover she does apparently not know that this Comic series originated in Italy, and was CREATED in Italy, by Disney Italy, where it’s currently at the Issue 51, which is like 16 Issue’s infront of the Philipines where the reviewer got this socalled \\”U are stealing\\” information from.
Also here from the Offical Disney Worldwide Publishing / Philipine area and I quote,

Furthermore, Witch Animated Series is created in France, by SIP Animation, together with Disney Worldwide and JETIX Channel and has not and do not need the approval of whatever Comic-Con is.
In conclusion, I hope that Amazon removes that review as it goes against good reviewing.

This is the first graphic novel in the W.I.T.C.H. series. It tells the same story as the first two W.I.T.C.H. novels, The Power of Five and The Disappearance.
In the first story, Will is a young teenage girl who is new to the town of Heatherfield. At her new school, the Sheffield Institute, she meets four other girls — Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin — and they quickly become friends. Soon after, however, strange things begin to happen in Heatherfield. The girls seem to have developed mysterious powers as well. They learn they are the Guardians of the Veil and have the power and responsibility to protect earth from invasion by the creatures of Metamoor, another dimension that is populated by evil beings. In the second story, the girls’ friend Elyon has disappeared, and as they search for her, they encounter more trouble from Metamoor.
Readers of the W.I.T.C.H. novels are sure to love this graphic novel. I like the books, but I really love this comic version so much more. The art is really cute, and beautifully done, and I think the comic format is just so much better for telling this story. I can’t wait until the second W.I.T.C.H. graphic novel is released, and I highly recommend this comic to all W.I.T.C.H fans.
