Mr Bower has previously written about Robert Maxwell, Mohammed al-Fayed, Tiny Rowland, Tony Blair, Bernie Ecclestone, Simon Cowell, Gordon Brown and Sir Richard Branson and is said to have agreed a six-figure advance to write the new biography – which will leave no royal stone unturned.
Now, a source has warned this is a book Meghan “will be dreading”, with Mr Bower set to speak to both friends and enemies of the Duchess of Sussex.
The source said: “This is the book Meghan will be dreading.
“Tom doesn’t pull his punches and is terrifyingly thorough in his research.
“No stone will be left unturned.

“Tom has previously worked with some of his subjects, and even spent time trailing them, but it has been made perfectly clear to him that this will not be an option with Meghan.”
The source told The Sun Meghan “wants no part of it” and added the book will be “dynamite” when it is released.
According to reports, Mr Bower will speak to Meghan’s estranged father Thomas Markle and other members of her family.
The author will approach friends of aides as well as “disgruntled former Palace staff” who no longer work for the couple anymore.

This comes after Meghan and Harry sat down with Oprah Winfrey earlier this month for an explosive interview.
The couple made several shocking allegations including claiming there were conversations about the colour of Archie’s skin before he was born.
The Royal Family made clear they did not agree with all of the Sussexes’ version of events.
In a statement, Buckingham Palace insisted that “some recollections may vary”.

Prince William, to date, has been the only member of the Firm to acknowledge the interview and said the Royal Family “was not racist”.
Last year, Royal authors Omid Scobie and Caroyln Durand released their own biography about the couple: Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family.
A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has denied the couple had anything to do with the biography.

6:45am update: Princess Anne praised as 'a proper royal' in latest outing with binmen – 'Truly humble'
Princess Anne has been praised for her latest to thank workers for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Princess Royal outing was shared by the Royal Family's official Twitter account along with three pictures.
Anne can be seen laughing and smiling with waste disposal workers.
The Royal Family's post on Wednesday read: "This afternoon The Princess Royal visited the home of the Greater Cambridge Shared Waste Service where she met the waste and recycling collection crews.
"Her Royal Highness thanked the refuse loaders and bin lorry drivers who have worked as frontline key workers throughout the pandemic, through times when households have generated more recycling and household waste than ever due to lockdown.
"The Princess was also shown the service's new electric bin lorry, the first electric bin lorry to operate in Cambridgeshire!"
Princess Anne’s first meeting with Prince Philip was greeted with champagne.
The princess royal was born on August 15, 1950 at 11.50am and weighed only 6lbs.
On the arrival of his first and only daughter, the Duke of Edinburgh exclaimed: "It's the sweetest girl."
It was reported that “the Duke of Edinburgh toasted the new princess’ health in champagne with his staff.”
Prince Charles has celebrated the courage and fortitude exhibited by the Greeks during a royal visit to Athens in celebration of Greece's 200th anniversary of independence amid criticism from the locked down public.
Attending a two-day royal trip on behalf of the Government, Prince Charles gave a speech in recognition of the landmark Greek independence day.
In his speech, the Prince of Wales honoured the relationship between the UK and Greece, praising "the extraordinary courage and fortitude" displayed by the Greeks in their fight for independence in 1821.
Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, are making the trip on behalf of the British Government and have diplomatic immunity, which is why they were allowed to make the trip.
Queen Elizabeth II must have found herself in an “incredibly lonely place” as she sought to deal with the toxic fallout from Meghan and Harry’s interview without the support of Prince Philip, according to a Royal insider.
The Duke of Edinburgh's month long illness confined him to hospital at the time of Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, and left the Queen to shoulder the consequences all on her own.
A Royal insider told People magazine: “She is always head of the country and Prince Philip was always head of the family.
“He is not there to be that—so everything is falling on to her shoulders.
“It must be an incredibly lonely place to be.”
Queen Elizabeth II has been left “saddened” and at a loss after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, a royal insider has claimed.
Commenting on the fallout from the landmark interview, royal expert Camilla Tominey claimed the feeling within the palace is of deep emotional sadness.
Speaking on a panel for the American Conservative think-tank, The Heritage Foundation, Ms Tominey revealed the Palace has been left questioning why the pair had aired “their dirty laundry” after securing Megxit.
Ms Tominey said: “At the moment you are asking what is the feeling inside the palace.
“I think from a familial perspective it is one of deep sadness it isn’t necessarily anger.
“I just think the Queen is asking herself why the couple felt it was necessary to air this dirty linen in public when they have secured Megxit to leave the family.
“Why do did they then need to throw a grenade behind them and run away from the wreckage.
“On an emotional level, that’s the fallout.”
Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are the only Royal Family members the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain close to according to a leading expert.
Meghan knew Eugenie before she met Prince Harry in summer 2016 and they have long been on friendly terms.
Speaking to OK! author Katie Nicholl said the Sussexes still have a close relationship with Eugenie and Jack.
She commented: "Eugenie and Jack are very close to Harry and Meghan.
"It's actually one of the few close friendships Harry and Meghan have retained in the Royal Family."

The Duke of Sussex announced this week he had landed his first job away from the Royal Family as Chief Impact Officer at San Francisco-based BetterUp Inc.
Harry, who has previously served in the British Army, will help to promote a wellness app that is used by corporate giants including Hilton, Facebook, NASA, confectionary firm Mars and oil firm Chevron, to help staff with their wellbeing.
The start-up has already posted Harry’s first motivational message on its Instagram page, where he talked about how people can be the “best version of ourselves”.
He said in the message: “Self-optimisation is not about fixing something that’s broken.
“It’s about becoming the best version of ourselves with whatever life throws at us – someone who is ready for the next challenge and can meet setbacks with courage, confidence and self-awareness.”
Meghan Markle has parted ways with her longtime agent Nick Collins according to reports (Image: GETTY)
Meghan Markle has parted ways with her longtime agent Nick Collins, with whom she started working a number of years ago as an actress on Suits , according to the Daily Mail.
Sources told the publication they are still friends.
Mr Collins also attended Meghan and Prince Harry’s May 2018 wedding at Windsor Castle and was even reported to have been a key player in the couple’s decision to quit as working royals for a new life in the US.
However, it appears Meghan is carving out a new team to work with after landing huge deals with Netflix and Spotify.
An LA talent agency source told DailyMail.com: ” It is a very strange development really. Nick has been a loyal friend and confidant for Meghan and Harry over the past few years.
“His expertise and knowledge of business matters in Hollywood and contact list is astonishing.
“While on paper she was not accepting work offers as an actress, other work opportunities and roles did come in through Gersh.
“And with the upheaval and swift departure from England and business plan needed, many believe he played a key role in helping the Sussexes get the ball rolling in business. He was part of the Dream Team.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a series of explosive revelations in their controversial TV interview. But historian Ruth Dudley Edwards said Meghan is being “exposed” over the “falsity” of her claims.
The historian also accused Meghan of “persuading” Harry to “demand” for them to move abroad while keeping their royal status as they became a “high-earning celebrity couple”.
Miss Dudley Edwards claimed that when the Queen refused they hit back with the incendiary interview – which the historian warned was “backfiring”.
Writing for News Letter, she said: “The truth is that Meghan, bored by the mainly mundane duties of royalty and deeply resentful of the hierarchical primacy of William and Kate, persuaded her fragile husband to demand the right for them to live abroad and retain the status, income and privileges of working royals while carrying out only the duties that suited and together carving out a career as a high-earning celebrity couple.
“When the Queen told them they could not have the royal cake and eat it, they retaliated by complaining to an audience of billions that they've been badly treated. It's backfiring. Pity about Harry.”

Kate Middleton and Prince William have made many virtual appearances during the coronavirus pandemic. Today, they appeared in a video with the mental health charity Time to Change.
The clip was posted on the Time to Change Twitter page and showed a clip of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The caption read: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shared a message thanking everyone who has been part of Time to Change's campaign to end mental health stigma.
“Find out how you can continue to be involved.”
When Kate is spotted out, she is often commended for her stylish fashion choices.
In the clip, the 39-year-old opted for a timelessly chic outfit.
The mother-of-three covered up in a high black roll neck jumper.
She was seen sitting down on a coach, leaving the rest of her outfit hidden.
Kate added to the minimalist look with a small pair of gold hoop earrings.
The jewels appear to have a thick gold band and can be seen beneath her dark brown locks.
6.08pm update: Prince Charles and Camilla thank all those who welcomed them in Greece as they finish their tour
Clarence House posted a series of pictures of the couple’s trip to Athen, with the final one being them waving as they boarded their plane back to the UK.
They posted on Twitter: “The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall's visit to Greece has come to an end.
“Thank you to all those who welcomed Their Royal Highnesses to Athens this week.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle timeline (Image: Express)
Prince Charles , 72, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall , 73, completed their two-day royal visit to Greece on Thursday and are now headed back to the UK. The trip to Athens was to mark the bicentenary of Greek Independence and was made at the request of the British Government. While the royals’ visit was not in breach of COVID-19 restrictions it ruffled feathers among republican campaigners.
While Charles and Camilla wore face masks throughout the two-day visit and observed strict social distancing measures at every engagement, the tour attracted criticism from anti-monarchy campaign group Republic.
Chief executive of Republic, Graham Smith, said: "There's really no difference between Prince Charles and some twenty-something influencer going to some other country in breach of the rules just to say: 'Look at me, I'm here'.
“These royal trips are entirely unnecessary, they are certainly not essential travel, and there is no justification for them.”
The Queen has sent Greece a heartfelt message as the nation marks 200 years since it gained independence on Thursday.
The Queen’s message followed the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall’s two-day trip to Athens to observe the important milestone.
In a statement shared by Buckingham Palace, the Queen sent her heartfelt congratulations to Greece and realised that the bicentenary celebrations fell during “a difficult year”.
The Queen’s message read: “On the significant occasion of the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the Greek War of Independence, I would like to convey to Your Excellency my congratulations, together with my best wishes to the people of Greece.
“After what has been a difficult year, I am sure that the Bicentenary celebrations will bring the promise of better times, whilst reinforcing the warmth of relations between our two governments and peoples.”
Princess Anne steps out for first engagement since birth of Zara Tindall’s baby boy (Image: ROYAL FAMILY)
The Princess Royal , 70, was all smiles as she stepped out for her first royal visit since the arrival of her grandson, Lucas Philip Tindall.
Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall , 39, gave birth to baby Lucas at home on Sunday evening, her husband Mike revealed while speaking on his rugby podcast on Wednesday.
The Princess has four granddaughters and looked delighted to have welcomed a grandson as she visited keyworkers on Wednesday.
The royal, who is known to be one of the hardest-woking members of the Firm, seemed cheery as she chatted to waste and recycling crews in Cambridgeshire.
The engagement was to thank lorry drivers and refuse workers for their tireless work during the coronavirus pandemic.
During the visit, Anne was shown the service’s new electric bin lorry as well as having a chance to speak to staff.

Prince Charles was awarded the City of Athens Gold Medal of Honour during his and Camilla’s two-day royal visit to Greece.
The Prince said that he would always treasure the medal – after making a joke about his age.
He said: “I didn’t realise, even at my age, I’d actually win a gold medal, so I’m even more grateful.”
Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Image: Getty)
Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge has turned to her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to help her get through this difficult time for the Royal Family, according to a royal commentator.
Christina Garibaldi told Us Weekly that the Duchess of Cambridge is extremely protective over her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
The royal commentator added that she feels blessed to have a loving family and that it brightens up her day when she is going through a tough time.
Prince Harry has announced his plans to tackle the “information disorder crisis” in his new part-time job with the Aspen Institute – just a year after he was reportedly left feeling “violated” by a hoax phone call from YouTubers.
The Duke of Sussex has confirmed his part-time role as one of 14 commissioners on the non-profit Aspen Institute's new Commission on Information Disorder.
Harry has repeatedly warned the public about the dangers of the digital world ever since he left the royal fold.
Last year, he and his wife Meghan Markle made headlines for encouraging American voters to reject "hate speech, misinformation and online negativity" before the US Presidential election.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is supporting her husband Prince William through his rift with younger brother Prince Harry, an insider has claimed.
Kate has been described as her husband’s “pillar of strength”, as the Duchess helps him navigate the fallout from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
A royal insider said the couple depends on each other to help them through difficult times.
Meghan Markle has been praised by her close friend and tennis champion Serena Williams.
Meghan’s character and qualities have been briefly discussed by Williams during the debut episode of Stuart Weitzman’s Shine Series.
This series of virtual conversations see leading and inspiring personalities discuss how to let “your strength shine through”.
During this poignant chat, Williams, a spokeswoman for this fashion brand, explained why she chose to publicly support the Duchess of Sussex in the wake of her and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Princess Diana and Prince Harry (Image: MirrorPix)
Prince Harry’s “impish, cheeky” nature was much loved by his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, according to commentators who revealed the late royal’s nickname for her youngest son.
Diana, Princess of Wales, wanted Prince Harry and Prince William “to be familiar with the Spencer side of the family”.
The royal, who was Lady Diana Spencer before her marriage to Prince Charles, found that her red-headed youngest son encompassed that group of relations very well.
She even had a nickname for the now Duke of Sussex, according to Channel 5 documentary, When the Spencers Met the Monarchy.
Prince William has “echoed” one of his brother’s “interesting” accusations in the Oprah Winfrey interview, according to royal commentators, who compared a new piece about the future king to Prince Harry’s claims.
Prince William’s reported method for handling the media has “reinforced” what Prince Harry has claimed, according to royal commentators.
The Duke of Cambridge had been the subject on an intimate portrait in The Sunday Times, in which friends and sources came forward to speak on his behalf.
Us Weekly’s Royally Us podcast discussed how some of the insight mirrored what the Duke of Sussex had said in his interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Princess Anne overjoyed with new grandson (Image: Getty)
Princess Anne was seen yesterday for the first time since the birth of her daughter Zara Tindall’s baby boy, Lucas Philip Tindall.
Anne visited lorry drivers and refuse workers to thank them for their hard work throughout the pandemic.
The princess’s body language during the visit showed her friendliness as well as her '”joy”, according to a royal expert.
Princess Anne was seen yesterday in photos posted on the Royal Family's social media.
It was the first time that the princess had stepped out since the arrival of her grandson, Lucas, on Sunday, March 21.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s concerns about experiencing racism while in the Royal Family were actually “predated” by Buckingham Palace’s decision to appoint a Diversity Chief, a commentator has claimed.
There have been reports that the Queen and Royal Family will appoint a Diversity Chief.
This comes after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle claimed racist comments were made about their son, Archie’s skin colour in their sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey.
9Honey royal commentator Natalie Oliveri gave more insight into the proposal.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal exit is set to be turned into a film.
Meghan and Prince Harry’s decision to step down as senior royals, the reasons behind it and their struggles will be portrayed in a Lifetime film called Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace.
This film will be the third of a series of productions by the cable network focused on Meghan and Harry’s romance.
The film will depict a version of what happened behind palace doors during Meghan and Harry’s time as full-time working royals, Deadline reported.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were allegedly surprised by the international backlash after their groundbreaking interview with Oprah Winfrey hit the small screen, a source claimed.
Meghan and Harry's first interview since leaving the Royal Family left the whole world talking this month.
More than two weeks after it was broadcast, commentators are still examining the couple's serious allegations against the Palace regarding its approach to race and mental health.
The Sussexes' more light-hearted claims have been in the spotlight, too, with Meghan's declaration that she and Harry had actually married three days before their lavish, televised ceremony stunning fans.
Oprah’s ‘very poor excuse’ for not approaching Palace (Image: CBS)
Oprah Winfrey had a “very poor excuse” for “not contacting” Buckingham Palace for a response after the astounding claims Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made in their recent interview, a commentator claimed.
Oprah has received widespread praise for her handling of Meghan and Harry's intimate sit-down conversation, which ITV aired earlier this month in the UK.
The conversation was the couple's first interview since their explosive exit from the royal frontline, and included an array of jaw-dropping accusations towards the Palace.
The Sussexes alleged that the Firm had handled the issues of both race and mental health poorly while they were on the royal frontline, while Meghan even claimed the Palace had been "perpetuating falsehoods" about the two of them to the public.
The use of Prince Harry’s title as a private sector worker has been contrasted with Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice approach by eagle-eyed royal watchers.
Earlier this week, it was announced Prince Harry joined BetterUp, a San Francisco-based mental health and coaching firm.
The Duke of Sussex has become the company’s first Chief Impact Officer, a role which will see him work own product strategy and public advocacy as well as provide his input on charitable contributions.
This new role makes Prince Harry the third among the Queen’s grandchildren bearing a title to join the private sector.
Zara and Mike Tindall (Image: Getty)
Zara and Mike Tindall’s third child was born on their bathroom floor, the shocked but delighted couple have revealed.
Little Lucas has the middle name Philip after the Duke of Edinburgh – who also made an unusual entrance by being born on a kitchen table in Corfu 99 years ago.
Mike, 42, said on his podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby of his baby son: "He arrived very quickly.
“Didn't make it to hospital. On the bathroom floor."
He described how he rushed to get a mat for Zara, 39, a former world equestrian champion and Olympic silver medallist.
Princess Anne never seemed to warm to Diana, Princess of Wales, according to royal commentators who described her attitude towards her former sister-in-law’s “histrionics”.
Princess Anne’s “very brusque” personality put Diana off her, according to royal experts.
The Princess Royal was never close to her sister-in-law when Diana was a member of the Royal Family, possibly because of their very different styles and approaches to work.
Channel 5 documentary, When the Spencers Met the Monarchy, explored the tense relationship.
Meghan and Harry Oprah interview sparks 5,000 Ofcom complaints (Image: CBS)
Prince Charles and Camilla are facing a backlash over their Greece trip this week, as most of Europe faces a third wave of coronavirus.
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall yesterday arrived in Athens for an official two-day visit at the request of the British Government following an invitation from Greece’s prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
But some Twitter users reacted angrily to Charles and Camilla’s royal trip.
Meghan Marle and Prince Harry’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey has sparked more than 5,000 furious complaints to Ofcom.
Earlier this month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down with the media mogul in their first interview since stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family.
The couple made staggering claims against the Firm including accusations of racism.
Meghan and Harry claimed there were conversations about the colour of Archie’s skin before he was born.
The UK’s communications regulator Ofcom has now received 5,178 complaints.
This figure was an increase on last week’s Ofcom report where 4,398 complaints were made about the interview.
Prince Charles and Camilla ignore backlash to royal trip overseas and attend Greece parade (Image: Getty)
Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have attended a military parade during the second day of their royal visit to Athens.
Prince Charles and Camilla headed to the heart of modern Athens this morning to watch the Greek Independence Day military parade.
The senior royals were pictured at Syntagma Square wearing face coverings and holding the parade’s programme.
The Prince of Wales was also spotted affectionately protecting his wife from the chill weather, pulling up a white blanket on her legs.
Prince Harry’s new job description at a Silicon Valley firm has been picked apart by a royal expert, who joked that the Duke likely would not be getting a reference from the Royal Family.
Prince Harry has landed a senior role as Chief Impact Officer at a US mental health firm, BetterUp.
According to the Silicon Valley start-up’s website, the Duke of Sussex will be helping to “lift up critical dialogues around mental health, build supportive and compassionate communities, and foster an environment for honest and vulnerable conversations”.
Royal commentator Charlie Rae and talkRADIO host Mike Graham joked about the update on-air.
Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with children (Image: Getty)
Kate Middleton ensures Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis eat a balanced breakfast everyday.
The Duchess of Cambridge once told school children about the young royals' food habits, such as the contents of their healthy breakfast.
She did so in January 2020, during a visit to London Early Years (LEYF) Foundation Stockwell Gardens Nursery and Pre-school in London.
US TV host Erica Cobb had defended Meghan Markle and Prince Harry after news of their secret wedding triggered a fierce backlash.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex dropped a string of bombshells during their controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Among these was the revelation that the couple had enjoyed an intimate secret wedding separate from the royal wedding watched around the world.
Meghan Markle caused an outcry when she claimed during the interview that the Archbishop of Canterbury had already celebrated her wedding to Prince Harry a few days before their official nuptials at St George’s Chapel.
