The trio of scientists argued relaxing current rules could ‘accelerate’ the roll-out of a jab to protect the world against COVID-19. In a stark warning, they said every week a vaccine is delayed it will be ‘accompanied by many thousands of deaths globally’. Figures show almost 500,000 people have now caught the life-threatening infection since the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December.
