Eighth annual ‘The Nutcracker’

IntempoDance is staging the Xmas Family Traditional Ballet “The Nutcracker” with music from Tchaikovsky and featuring Intempo Dance students along with the Intempo Dance Ensemble Company Members and guest dancers on Dec. 15. Pet photos with Santa

LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch, 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. Katy, invite pet owners to bring their dogs and cats to have their picture taken with Santa from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 16. Pets must be on a leash. Natural Pawz and CAP, Citizens for Animal Protection, will be handing out toys, treats, and information. Several photo packages will be available for purchase.

Story Time

Story Time on the Green will be offered at 10 a.m. on Dec. 16 at Central Green Park, 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. Maria Ashworth, an award-winning children’s author with a degree in elementary education, will lead the story time intended to foster and develop a toddler’s personal, social, motor and literacy skills through music, finger play, art and storytelling. The band After Midnight will perform at Central Greek Park from 7-9 p.m. Dec. 28. This all-star group of talent has performed with some of music’s biggest artists, over the past 30 years. Breakfast with a Veteran

On the first Saturday of every month, Jan. 4, from 7-10 a.m., American Legion Post 164 Katy, its auxiliary and Katy Elks host an all-you-can-eat breakfast at the Katy Elks Lodge, 1050 Katy Fort Bend Road in Katy, to benefit veterans. Breakfast is $8 for adults, $4 for kids under age 12 and free for little ones.

Candidate forum on climate change

The nonpartisan Citizens Climate Lobby is hosting a candidate forum on climate change on Monday, Jan. 6, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library, 2620 Commercial Center Blvd.in Katy. This is an opportunity to hear candidates and incumbents from both parties running for office in the U.S. House from districts TX7, TX10 and TX22 discuss their views on transitioning to a low-carbon future.

Education Foundation Marathon
