Ministries benefit

The eighth annual Family Christmas Party benefiting Supply Bridge Ministries will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at iRACE Entertainment, 24984 Katy Ranch Road, Katy. Free concert

Tree lighting celebration

Parkway Fellowship Power Praise and Meggie Watson will perform to benefit Stuff the Sleigh a certified 501(c)3 non-profit organization, that is dedicated to helping children and their families experience, for a moment in time, the joy and spirit of Christmas through year-round giving to those children who are affected by cancer and hematological conditions. Intempo Dance Studio will perform pieces from the Nutcracker Show, Power Praise will perform their Christmas song and dance, and Watson will perform Christmas songs at Central Green Park on Nov. 24 from noon to 3 p.m. There will be activities such as face painting, crafts, and Christmas Carols sing along. Christmas Cookie Walk

Katy Heritage Society will hosts its first annual Christmas Heritage Tour and Cookie Walk from 5-7 p.m. on Dec. 5. The price for the cookie walk is $25. Pick up the box at the historic Katy Depot between 5 and 6; then proceed to Katy Heritage Park, 5990 George Bush Drive in Katy, to visit each historic home to collect cookies to add to your box. At the end of the event you will have a decorative box of a dozen cookies as well as a chance to view the historic homes. Each home will have a unique tree decorated by local Katy businesses. Share Your Holidays Food Drive

On Dec. 6, the Maud Marks Branch, 1815 Westgreen Blvd., will once again be the drop off location for food donations for Channel 13’s annual “Share Your Holidays” Food Drive. The library has participated every year since it opened in 1993. All food donated will be distributed by Katy Christian Ministries and benefit families in the Katy area. The library will be accepting donations of food from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. at the entrance of the library building. The food drive begins early to allow commuters the opportunity to stop by on their way to work.
