Ms Foster, the leader of the Democratic Unionist Party, warned the EU that it will bear great responsibility for no deal following the its reaction to Boris Johnson’s new Brexit plan. The warning came after the EU said it was “open but not convinced” by the UK PM’s new proposals for a Brexit deal with the EU. Ms Foster told BBC’s Newsnight: “We are certainly moving into the territory of no deal despite the fact that our Prime Minister has put forward a very reasonable deal to the EU. “If that’s going to be their reaction, then I’m afraid that we’re heading towards a no deal. “People will have to bear the responsibility for that.” The comments were directed at the European Councils claim that EU leaders were not convinced by Mr Johnson’s Brexit plan that had been heavily alluded to in the past few weeks.
