DAVID Cameron is sending his son to a private school — despite previously blasting them as “crazy”. Elwen, 12, attends a school where fees are more than £30,000-a-year. Around a quarter of its students go on to Oxbridge. Competition for admission is fierce and in some years there are six applicants for every place. News of the former PM’s choice comes as his pal and Cabinet minister Michael Gove said he wants to see an end to private schools. Father-of-three Mr Cameron was privately educated at Eton College and then went on to Oxford University. But he risks being accused of hypocrisy as he previously attacked private schools and suggested he would send all his kids to state schools. In 2009, while leader of the Opposition, he said: “I think it’s crazy that we should pay lots of money for private schools. PRIVATE SCHOOLS TO BE SCRAPPED “We all pay our taxes.
