SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A North Side corner store employee shot at a man who tried to rob him and police found a man suffering from gun shot wounds two blocks away, according to Syracuse police. Officers responded to Alibaba Market, located at 419 Wolf Street, for a robbery call at approximately 7:45 p.m., police said. The store employee told officers a 6-foot tall black man wearing all dark clothing and armed with a hand gun tried to rob the store, police said. The employee told police he shot at the man and the man ran away, police said. Officers found a man suffering from gun shot wounds in the 600 block of LeMoyne Avenue, police said. He was taken to Upstate University Hospital where he is currently in critical condition, police said. “This investigation is in the very early states,” police said. Officers taped off Wolf Street from the corner of Wolf and Spring streets to Alibaba Market. Several marked SUVs sat outside the store and a crime scene unit van also was on the scene.
