A former swim coach has been found guilty in connection with the 2016 drowning of a 13-year-old girl during practice at a Southlake pool. A Tarrant County jury convicted Tracey Anne Boyd, 51, on Friday of abandoning or endangering a child through criminal negligence. She faces up to two years in state jail, but is also eligible for probation. Elise Cerami, 13, died hours after being pulled from the pool at the Carroll ISD Aquatics Center on June 20, 2016. One of her teammates on the North Texas Nadadores swim club had spotted her underwater. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office ruled Elise’s death an accidental drowning. Last year, a grand jury indicted Boyd on the child-endangerment charge, saying that she did not “watch or observe Elise Cerami while [Cerami] was swimming” or make sure that someone else was supervising the girl.
