It was a painful reminder that crime can happen anywhere in Jersey City, even the Heights neighborhood that Mayor Steve Fulop calls home. An SUV propped on cinder blocks, all four of its tires stolen, sat on Ogden Avenue in front of Riverview Fisk Park for two days this week. The SUV also had a plastic bag taped over a window that had been broken. Finally on Thursday morning, a tow truck pulled up. The Jeep 4×4 would finally be removed, but first the tow truck operator had to slap on some new tires. A short while later, the job was finished and the Jeep was led away, returning the neighborhood with the breaktaking views to the east to a sense of normalcy. A Jersey City spokeswoman said there was no report on the SUV and its broken window and stolen tires.
