BLUE SPRINGS — The Jefferson City Jays broke away from the Blue Springs Wildcats in the fourth quarter to win 59-49 in the loser’s bracket semifinals of the Blue Springs South Tournament on Friday. With the game tied at 38 after the third quarter, the Jays went on a 13-4 run in a six-minute span. Blue Springs led 13-12 after the first quarter and 29-28 at halftime. Brennan Jeffries scored 22 points to lead the Jays. Ben Folz and Sterling DeSha each scored 13 points. Jefferson City (3-2) will face Fort Smith Northside (Fort Smith, Ark.) at 2:30 p.m. today in the fifth-place game.
