Dameian Beal, 41, was taken into custody around 2 p.m. in the 2100 block of Village Way. He faces a murder charge, and his bail had not been set. Officers were called to Price Beal’s home in the 4100 block of South Cockrell Hill Road around 6:30 p.m. Aug. 3 after his brother found the 72-year-old’s body. The brother told police he hadn’t heard from the elder Beal, so he went to his apartment. When he found his sibling lying on the ground, he left the apartment and notified authorities. Police said in an arrest-warrant affidavit that Price Beal’s body “showed signs of homicidal violence consistent with a bladed instrument.” Detectives discovered a trail of blood in the apartment that led to the bathroom, and droplets of blood were found on the sink, toilet seat, bathtub and shower knob — leading them to believe that Price Beal’s attacker may have a hand or finger injury. Police also learned that Price and Dameian Beal had argued the previous day and that the father’s last phone call was to his son, the affidavit says. Dameian Beal did not answer his phone when several relatives tried to call him, police said.
