Wolf Pack rains 15 3-pointers on Pacific in 83-61 win

Duke Ritenhouse Reno Gazette Journal Published 2:27 AM EST Nov 10, 2018 It was raining 3-pointers Friday night at Lawlor Events Center, and that was bad news for visiting Pacific. Nevada hit 15 of its 31 3-point attempts Friday to provide the big difference in an 83-61 win over the Tigers. The Wolf Pack’s 3-point shooting percentage (48.4 percent) actually ended up being better than its overall shooting percentage (44.6 percent). The convincing win – Pacific’s biggest lead at any time was two points – helped Nevada hold serve in its first week as a top 10 team. The No. 7/No. 9 Pack improved to 2-0 on the season, with both wins coming over West Coast Conference teams. Pacific dropped to 1-1. For the second straight game, Caleb Martin did not score in the first half. And, for the second straight game, he lit up the arena in the second half. He led the Wolf Pack with 22 points and also added six rebounds. Four other Nevada players hit double-figures in a balanced attack – Jordan Caroline (16), Tre’Shawn Thurman (14), Jazz Johnson (12), and Cody Martin (11).
