As the 14,000-acre blaze moved closer to Malibu on Friday, there were 6,067 customers without power in that city, Southern California Edison reported. Power officials said on Twitter that the outages were because of wind and fire conditions. Near Calabasas there were 6,835 customers without power and in the Malibu Creek State Park–a mountainous area between Calabasas and Malibu–there were 1442 customers reporting no power. There were about 3,238 customers in Ventura County, according to the SCE outage map, several of them attributed to either storm or wind conditions. The blaze, which broke out near the former Rocketdyne complex in Simi Valley on Thursday, Nov. 8 was at zero percent containment as of Friday afternoon, and led to thousands of evacuations, including the entire city of Malibu.
