NEWBURGH – With just 46 seconds remaining, Somers boys dropped in a goal to break a 1-1 tie and dash Queenbury’s hopes in the Class A semifinal on Saturday afternoon. The defeat for the top-ranked Spartans of Section II, entering the game with a 19-1 record, came at Mount Saint Mary College. Tusker Jon Riina kicked one in in front of the Queensbury goal in a cross from Evan Mazzola for the winning Somers goal. The team was ranked 4th. Queensbury’s lone goal came from Aidan Jordi-Donnelly that evened the score with 7:32 remaining. It was the senior midfielder’s 14th goal of the season.
