An opponent that is very good on defense, very bad on offense. All field and no hit. Well, maybe the Jets aren’t quite as bad. Buffalo (2-7) has scored an NFL-low 96 points, lowest through nine games in franchise history, and its negative 145-point differential is worst in the league by the length of Long Island. The Jets (3-6) have scored 198 points and are minus-15. Compared to the Bills, they look like the Kansas City Chiefs, but they know they aren’t fooling anyone. Behind rookie quarterback Sam Darnold, the No. 3 overall pick in the draft out of USC, the Jets rocketed out of the gate with a 48-17 Week 1 victory over Detroit. They also scored 34 and 42 points in wins over Denver and Indianapolis. But in New York’s six losses (to Miami, Cleveland, Jacksonville, Minnesota, Chicago and Miami again), it has averaged just 12.3 points per game, never scoring more than 17.
