Westminster Presbyterian Church is inviting the public to a free showing of the classic, silent horror film “The Phantom of the Opera,” accompanied by live, improvised organ music at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26. Guests are invited to wear costumes to the event at the church, 724 Delaware Ave., Buffalo. Organist and choirmaster Garrett Martin will play along on the church’s historic Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ. “This is a unique cinema experience, pairing one of the greatest silent films with an impromptu organ accompaniment,” Martin said in a statement. “The cinematography of the film together with Westminster’s colorful, rich, pipe organ will capture the moods of the film.” The is supported by the Westminster Friends of Music. Donations will be accepted. For more information, call 716-884-9437 or visit wpcbuffalo.org.
