Best bounceback: Gary Calcagno Kansas State quarterback Skylar Thompson ran through, around and over OSU on Saturday, rushing for 80 yards on 12 carries. One of those ended with him storming into the Cowboys’ sideline, where he collided with Gary Calcagno, one of OSU’s strength and conditioning coaches. Thompson sent Calcagno to the ground, but like a Bobo doll, he popped right back up. Worst end-of-half management: Kansas State For once, it wasn’t OSU that mismanaged its way through the end of the first half. The Wildcats drove downfield with seconds ticking and looked as if they would come away with at least a game-tying field goal. But Kansas State had no timeouts, so when OSU safety Jarrick Bernard sacked Thompson on third down, the Wildcats didn’t have enough time to get their field-goal unit on the field before the half ended. They made up for it, scoring a touchdown on all of their second-half drives.
