A small plane crashed into a field in Weld County on Saturday afternoon, the sheriff’s office said. The crash occurred about 3:57 p.m. in a field near county roads 37 and 39, north of Fort Lupton, the release said. Both people in the plane survived and took themselves to the hospital, according to the sheriff’s office. The cause of the crash is unknown. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
