LOS ANGELES — The Denver Nuggets have agreed to a two-year contract extension with head coach Michael Malone, a source told The Denver Post on Wednesday. The team announced the extension Wednesday morning, but terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Malone was heading into the final year of his contract. “As these conversations have been ongoing, I never let it affect my approach,” Malone said Wednesday morning at the Nuggets’ shootaround. “Whether I have an extension or I don’t have an extension, I’m not going to coach any differently. I only know one way. I’m fully committed, I’m excited to be here, and I want to be here and to have an ownership group and a front office that feels the same way is great. And as I mentioned, humbling is the best word I can come up with. Now it’s OK, taking care of business.” Malone has been Denver’s head coach since 2015 and has compiled a 119-127 record in three seasons. The Nuggets won 46 games last season and 40 in 2016-17, missing the playoffs by one game each year.
