Cole Tracy kicked five field goals and Joe Burrow had a pair of quarterback sneaks for touchdowns Saturday afternoon as No. 13 LSU whipped No. 2 Georgia 36-16 before a Tiger Stadium sellout crowd of 102,321. LSU built a 29-9 lead on Tracy’s fifth field goal with 7:20 remaining, and the Bulldogs got within two scores on a 27-yard touchdown pass from Jake Fromm to Riley Ridley at the 6:00 mark. They would get no closer, though, as Burrow broke free for a 59-yard run to set up Nick Brossette’s 4-yard touchdown run with 4:14 left. The Bulldogs dropped to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in Southeastern Conference play heading into next week’s open date before the Oct. 27 showdown against Florida in Jacksonville. The Tigers (6-1, 3-1) host Mississippi State next Saturday night. This is a developing story. Check back later for more and see Sunday’s Times Free Press.
