Boston police are investigating the shooting death of a man, found critically wounded in his car in Dorchester. In a release issued Saturday, police officials said officers found the man as they investigated a report of shots fired in the area. The victim, a male in his 30s, was found in his car on Columbia Road just after 9:30 p.m. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The Boston Globe reported that police canvassed the neighborhood around the shooting looking for witnesses and surveillance video that may show the incident. Initial information indicated a male suspect fled the scene on foot. The shooting marks the 46th homicide in the city so far in 2018, and the seventh in just this week. Not long after the Friday night homicide, a second person was shot in Dorchester. Police said the victim was critically wounded at about 3:20 a.m. in the area of 20 Rockford St., the Globe reported, and was transported to a local hospital.
