Circus Juventas closed out its latest show over the weekend in St. Paul. The local youth circus gave 22 performances of “Steam: Grab Your Goggles and Fly!” this summer. Beginning in May, the show’s 71 student-performers spent an average of 20 to 25 hours a week on the ceiling, floor and everywhere in between under the Circus Juventas bigtop. “Steam” is set in Paris in 1890, where aspiring author H.G. Wells accepts a mysterious invitation to a party at the home of legendary science fiction writer Jules Verne. Wells is swept away on journeys both real and imagined.
