The latest investments by Capital Innovators, a St. Louis based accelerator program, include a travel-planning company from Mexico and a project-management software firm from Singapore. The spring accelerator class also includes two St. Louis area startups along with firms from Denver and Washington, D.C. Capital Innovators invests $50,000 in each early-stage company and brings the founders to St. Louis for a 12-week mentoring program. The firm, founded in 2012, has a portfolio of 92 companies. They have attracted more than $300 million in outside funding and created more than 800 jobs, Capital Innovators says. The six companies in this spring’s accelerator class are: Jubel, of Mexico City, which uses artificial intelligence and a proprietary database to book travel experiences. Kind Soap, of Webster Groves, which makes personal care and beauty products using natural ingredients. Slasify, of Singapore, which has a platform that harnesses global talent to work on clients’ projects. StatRoute, of Denver, a fantasy-sports management platform that includes social-media features. Vision Interchange, of Washington, an e-commerce company that lets consumers trade in their eyeglasses or sunglasses frames for new models. VoiceXP, of St. Louis, which builds “Alexa skills” and other voice software for businesses.
