The Lincoln State Cat Club opened its 57th Annual Pedigree and Household Pet Cat Show Saturday at the Kane County Fairgrounds in St. Charles. As many as 225 cats are on display and, for the first time, there are 10 rings of competition. The pedigree cat and the Household Pet stars are competing to become the Best in Show. The show features educational seminars on the care, health and well-being of family felines and the importance of spaying and neutering. Veterinarians, a groomer, pet-sitters and feline behavior counselors will present information on how to take care of your kitten/cat. For those looking for a new addition to the family, shelters and rescues have cats available for adoption. The show includes vendors who offer a variety of cat care accessories, art, jewelry, cat play and toy products. Super Hero Garfield visits with kids and poses for selfies with fans. The show continues from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the fairgrounds, 525 S. Randall Road. Admission is $8, $6 for seniors and free for kids younger than 7. A discount coupon is at lscats.org.
