Donald Trump recalls how actress Candice Bergen turned him down for a date in college

Donald Trump loves to talk up his time at the prestigious Wharton School of Business — but he admits there was one deal even he couldn’t close: Scoring a date with homecoming queen Candice Bergen. “She was so beautiful,” Trump reminisced of the “Murphy Brown” star in a Boston Globe interview published Friday. Bergen did notice Trump — she recalled in a 1992 speech that he was “hard to miss,” with the “two-piece burgundy suit with matching burgundy patent leather boots and [a] matching burgundy limousine.” Still, she managed to resist. “She was dating guys from Paris, France, who were 35 years old, the whole thing,” the GOP presidential frontrunner recalled to the Globe. “I did make the move.
