Bree Burkitt Arizona Republic Published 12:53 PM EST Dec 8, 2018 A woman crossing a street midblock in south Phoenix died after being hit by a car Friday night, police said. The 33-year-old woman was crossing south Central Avenue near Vineyard Road midblock shortly before 11 p.m. when she was hit by a 2000 gray Nissan Frontier heading northbound, according to Phoenix police. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released her name. Police said the 22-year-old male driver of the truck stayed at the scene. Neither speed nor impairment appeared to be factors in the crash.
