A pair of dicephalic twins born Wednesday with two heads and one body – the first twins ever known to share all their body parts – will undergo surgery in six months to forfeit the left head. Born in the northern province of Hai Duong, the twins share the same body, organs, spine and limbs. Hanoi Pediatrics Hospital director Assistant Professor Doctor Nguyen Thanh Liem said this is the first case ever recorded in medical history in which a pair of conjoined twins share all the body parts without a duplicate. The twins will be monitored at the Pediatrics Hospital until they are ready for the operation. Doctors at the hospital said there is a medical and moral right to forfeit the left head to save the child.
